Is there a story behind your book Mamarazzi?

I’ve had the general idea for MAmarazzi for years and years. In college, I actually used a small portion of the idea to write a piece of a screenplay for a screenwriting class. Only, in that class, the main character was male and I called it Paparazzi. I guess I’ve always been fascinated by the celebrity life and the idea that they are just regular people with rather outlandish jobs. I wanted to take someone outside that lifestyle and plant them inside it in a sudden manner and then see what happened when the secrets came out!

What started you on your writing journey?

An insane drive to write! When I was little, I used to cut pictures out of magazines, paste them onto paper and write stories about them. I would then sell these “Newspapers” to my parents for a nickel. I should have known then what my destiny might be! Instead, I graduated college and went into radio! I wrote my first novel, “Someone Always Loved You” a year after that, but I gave up on writing anything but radio scripts for the next decade. I regret the time I lost. Everything came full circle when my oldest daughter was born in 2009. I left my full time radio job and searched for something to do at home. I’d always loved to write so it seemed like a natural fit. I started building a freelance writing career and fell back into fiction writing as my fire ignited once again.

What distracts you from writing the easiest?

My two daughters! They command my full attention nearly all day every day. I’m thankful they rest about an hour a day in the afternoon and allow me a little time to get the creative juices flowing through writing. Otherwise, I use those juices in make believe games we play. J

Which character in your new release most interested you while you wrote? Why?

I was most interested in Eliot Lane, the male lead. He’s not as developed as the female lead, but he comes across as a humble, level headed guy. He is building a huge acting career and it has really taken off. And yet he hasn’t let the fame get to him. He could have anything he wanted at the snap of his finger and he doesn’t take advantage of that. He still knows what’s important in life and I found him fascinating.
