Mamarazzi Pre-Order

Juggling projects is hard. Now that Mamarazzi is about to be released (September 11), I feel like I wrote it SO long ago! I have since written two other novels and am trying to prepare children's books for release as well. But I recently got a chance to go through the book again for line edits and a final read through. That helped me re-acquaint myself with the characters and enjoy the book all over again. And it reminded me how much I enjoyed writing it.

Mamarazzi is coming out September 11. It feels like summer has flown by and my oldest starts back to school in a couple weeks. So the early fall date will be here in no time. So you don't forget when the date actually arrived, you are welcome to pre-order the book now. Just click on the below icon and you can get it taken care of right away. The novel will be available in paperback format as well and I'll get you that link when it is ready.
I'd also like to thank those who showed up for the online facebook party for the cover reveal of Mamarazzi. I was only able to have a one hour party, but it was so much fun chatting with readers and enjoying comments and questions.

I look forward to more such fun at the Mamarazzi release party on September 15. I am arranging author takeovers for every hour throughout the day. Right now the party will start at noon and go till about 8pm, central time. This could expand, however, if more authors are interested in earlier or later times. I'd love to have you join the facebook party today so you don't forget later. Even if you can't make it live, you can always look back on the posts later. And it's fun to check in throughout the day and post comments here and there as you have time.

Join the Mamarazzi Release Party September 15 HERE

And THANK YOU for all of your support. Whether you are a blogger, a friend, a reader, a family member, a fan, a passerby, or someone who helped name the characters, I do this because of you and partly FOR you. I'll leave you with a quote from the new book...

Danica Bennett isn't sure what she hates more...her job or the fact that she's good at it.  As one of the many Hollywood paparazzi, she lives her life incognito and sneaks around trying to get the best shot of the latest star.  When she is mistaken for an extra on a new, up and coming TV show, her own star rises and she becomes the one being photographed.  Add that to the fact that she's falling for her co-star, Eliot Lane, and Danica is in a whole heap of trouble.

Brooke Williams writes in a sleep-deprived state while her daughters nap. Her romantic comedy is best read in the same state. Brooke has twelve years of radio in her background, both behind the scenes and on the air. She was also a television traffic reporter for a short time despite the fact that she could care less about hair and make-up. Today, Brooke stays at home with her daughters and works as a freelance writer for a variety of companies. When she isn’t working for paying clients, she makes things up, which results in books like “Accept this Dandelion.”  Brooke is also the author of "Accept this Dandelion," “Wrong Place, Right Time,” “Someone Always Loved You,”  “Beyond the Bars.” She plans to continue the Dandelion story into a series and looks forward to her first children's book release “Baby Sheep Gets a Haircut” in June 2016. Brooke and her husband Sean have been married since 2002 and have two beautiful daughters, Kaelyn (5) and Sadie (nearly 2).

Mamarazzi Cover Reveal Details

7/15/2015

Mamarazzi is a book I had to hold myself back on. The idea was bugging me SO much I wanted to begin writing immediately. But the first line came to me in November with the holidays looming. Not a great time for book-writing! Especially knowing that when I write a novel, I can't stop once I start.

So I put myself off by holding a name-that-character contest. Yes, every character in the book was named by YOU! I gave details on characters, collected names, chose a few favorites in each, and had you vote. The result is a book filled with awesomely named characters, I believe!

Mamarazzi will come out September 11th (with a release day party on September 15...join that party HERE!) And the cover was just completed about a week and a half ago. I decided to have the cover reveal next Wednesday, July 22nd. What does that include?

Well, the cover will be showcased on about 50 blogs across the internet. More if I can find them. (IF you have one or know any, contact me, I'm happy to have more join the fun!) I will also host a facebook party to celebrate the event. Due to the fact that I have two young girls and no one to watch them that day, the party will only be one hour long...1:30-2:30 central time while they are resting (hopefully). You can join that party HERE. During the party I'll talk about the book, the cover, my vision for it, answer questions, and do giveaways. I hope you'll join me for that! If you can't make that time, being the middle of the day and all, you can still join the link and look back at threads later in the day. Love to have you!

So stay tuned for the Mamarazzi Cover Reveal coming to a web page near you NEXT week!!! Until then, I leave you with this Mamarazzi quote. The first line in the book and the line that inspired me to write it ASAP!!

What's in a cover?

When you look a book, there are a few things that strike you. If the book is by an author you know and love, the name alone may grab you. The title is another thing that might pique your interest. For me, the cover is very important. Especially if the book is by an author I do not know and the story is not familiar to me. The cover can tell you a lot about what's inside and it may even tell you whether or not the book is worth picking up to read the description.

A book's cover can get a reader past the point of interest to the part where they read the description and maybe even a line or two on page one. The cover alone can even compel someone to buy the book or forget about it. A book cover is very important to what's inside.

That being said, I am an author, not a graphic designer. And my book covers have come from a variety of places throughout my career. I'd like to take the opportunity to share a few with you today in anticipation for the Mamarazzi cover reveal. (I'll announce a date for that soon!! I've seen the cover!!)

Let's start with the first book I ever wrote, Someone Always Loved You. This book has two covers, the one on the left shows up on Amazon. The one on the right is for the print copies. The reason for this is because, quite simply, this was my first book and I had no idea what I was doing. :) As I said above, I am no graphic designer and putting this book out for public enjoyment was a pure experiment. I made the covers myself. I wanted the feel of someone sitting by an invalid's bedside (as you get more from the picture on the left). And I wanted to showcase the main male character's job as an ambulance driver (as you get from the picture on the right.) This book is one I hope to revisit in future years to polish its image. In the meantime, it's been a #1 best seller in its category on several occasions and I couldn't be more thrilled about its success.

Picture
I also made this cover and once again, the print cover is different than the amazon cover. This is the amazon cover. The print is similar and the title etc shows up better. I simply wanted to showcase that the "bars" portion of the title meant prison type of bars and not bars where you go to drink. And the barbed wire looked cooler than actual prison bars. This book was a writing experiment and it has yet to really take off. Though it's gotten some really positive reviews recently and that's encouraging.

Picture
Wrong Place, Right Time, is my first romantic comedy and the first time I had someone designing a cover for me where I actually got input. They asked me what I envisioned for the cover and then created a cover based on what I said. This book was put out by The Writer's Coffee Shop and the cover was pretty much exactly what I asked for. At first, the cover designer said she was having trouble finding an Elvis-like image that she could use on a book cover legally. She suggested another route. I can't remember exactly what, but something to do with wedding rings. I remember my heart sinking at the idea. I wanted the wedding scene. It was how I started the book and the reason the whole book took place! She looked further and came up with the above cover. I shouted with glee. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It shows a scene that is VERY important to the book, which happens to take place in a Vegas wedding chapel in front of an Elvis... :) After this cover, I felt like the bar was set high in terms of creativity.
Picture
This is my favorite book to date. I wrote it in a strange, sleep-deprived mood and every time I read it (or listen to it since it's in audio form now!) it makes me smile and even giggle. When it came time to create the cover I knew JUST what I wanted. Have you ever seen promos for the Bachelor TV show? They show a man in a suit holding a rose behind his back. That's the image I wanted. Only substitute a dandelion! My publisher tried to put that together and it wasn't quite what I wanted so my photography-loving husband took the above shot of himself holding just a stem and my publisher agreed to use that photo instead. They placed a dandelion on the stem he held and put the curtain behind him and the title and name in front of it and presto! The cover I'd always dreamed of for this book!

Next up? Mamarazzi! I knew I wanted flashing lights to portray Hollywood and I had some other ideas as well, but I don't want to go into detail too much so as not to spoil the big cover reveal. I promise to choose a date for it soon! The cover is created and I can't wait to share! The book comes out September 11th with a release day party happening all day September 15th! More details on all that soon!

YA/NA historical romance

Gold Nuggets by Lynn Lovegreen

In the shadow of Denali, she has a home, and he finds adventure. Charlotte Cooper wants to stay near her parents' home in Alaska. But her dreams of being a writer call her away to college or work, and she has to choose her own path in life.

Henry Reeves is a wealthy New Yorker seeking a summer adventure when he travels to Kantishna near the proposed Mt. McKinley National Park. He discovers two passions, one for Charlotte, and the other for keeping Alaska wildlife from being wiped out like the buffalo.

Charlotte and Henry find an attraction they can’t deny, but can they build a new life together between the wilderness and high society?

She enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and family, and hitting targets with a cowboy action shooting club. Her young adult historical romances are set in the Alaska Gold Rush, a great time for drama, romance, and independent characters. See her website at www.lynnlovegreen.com.
