She searched her small purse. She'd emptied her checking account at the ATM before coming to the airport and had ransacked her car for change as well. When she counted out the bills, she knew she was short, and both her credit cards were maxed out already.

"Do you have any one-way tickets available?"

"Of course," the clerk answered. "The same flight out for ninety-six dollars."

Kate began to count change. She had just enough, and she pushed the money across the counter.

"The flight will board at gate 4C in just a few minutes. Do you have any bags to check?"

"No." She had no bags, no money--and no plan, either.

Kate took the ticket from the clerk. She would have time during the flight to figure out what she was going to say and how she was going to say it. First, she needed to get to Las Vegas and find the Chapel of Love.

And here is a guest post written for a participating blog.

Can you give us some writing tips and talk us through some of your writing experiences.

I could probably sit and write about writing all day long! I won’t, though, promise!

I remember writing in grade school. I would cut out pictures from magazines and paste them onto blank sheets of paper and write new stories around them. Then I would sell the creations to my parents. I should have known then that I was meant to be a writer.

But parents are easy targets. Writing in the real world is much more of a challenge. I wrote my first novel, “Someone Always Loved You” a good decade ago. I approached agents with it. I got rejected. A lot. The worst/best rejection I got was an agent who returned my self-addressed stamped envelope to me with “no” written on the outside. The inside was empty. No form letter or anything! How rude! Ha.

Honestly, after so many rejections, I gave up on writing and tried to enjoy my career in radio. I wrote short commercial scripts and told myself it was enough. But about a year after my first daughter was born, I started working from home on a freelance basis. I wrote and still write articles for clients all over the world. I love it! But even that isn’t enough. Fiction is my true love and I had to dabble there as well.

I don’t write a story unless the plot or characters bother me…a lot! When I get an idea, I let it fester until I can no longer sleep at night unless I write it down. And once I start, I feverishly work on the story until it’s complete. Since I’m a mom of two young girls, the time I have to write is very limited. We’re talking like an hour a day is all. But even at that, I can generally churn out a story in around a month or so. Thankfully because it’s hard to concentrate on much else until it’s out!

I don’t outline. I try not to think about things too much unless I’m sitting typing. Sometimes I’ll run into an issue and the best thing I can do is walk away. The answer comes to me at a random time and then I just have to hold onto it until I can write again!

My biggest tip for writers who aspire to be published is to never give up. I readily admit that I did give up and I regret that. Had I kept at it a decade ago, who knows where I’d be today! There are so many publishing options out there that it seems like there’s something for everyone. Publishing is still a tough business and finding the right publisher can be like finding a needle in a haystack. But if you aren’t digging through that haystack on a regular basis, you’ll NEVER find that needle, right?!

If nothing else, write because you love it. Write for you. Write because you can’t NOT write! Doctors tell you to work out because it’s good for your body. On the days when I’m able to write, my mind feels better. Writing is the work out my mind needs to keep itself on track for the rest of the day!

“Wrong Place, Right Time” is a story that stems from one simple line that I couldn’t get out of my head… “Stop the wedding!”  The whole story fell out from that line on. It was my first stab at a true romance story and I thoroughly enjoyed writing it. I hope you walk away from the story with a smile on your face and laughter in your heart. I know that’s what happened to me when I typed “The End!”

And here's a guest post one of the other blogs will feature:

What type of heroes & heroines do you avoid writing about? There are certain types that get on my nerves so I was curious to find out if authors try not to write about leads w/ certain traits/characteristics?

When it comes to female characters, I don’t like the overly attractive, drop dead gorgeous type. I enjoy writing women that are much more average…much more real. In “Wrong Place, Right Time,” Kate Covington is a TV traffic reporter. She’s a nice looking gal, but she’s not tall…she doesn’t have long legs…she isn’t stick thin…and she doesn’t give a wit about hair, makeup, clothes or any other piece of image. Perhaps that’s why she’s not that good at reporting the traffic. Haha.

I like strong women who know what they want in life and aren’t afraid to go after it, but I also want them to be real, down to earth people who could be your best friend. Everyone knows someone who struggles in the love department. Do any of us know a 6-foot Amazonian blonde with a perfect figure?

As for male characters, I tend to write men who appear full of themselves, but deep down are really just as vulnerable as anyone else. I avoid writing men that are shallow and are actually full of themselves through and through. I don’t like it when a character knows he’s attractive and tells people so without question! Men are often one thing in front of most people and something else entirely when they are alone with just one person they trust.

Overall, I feel that characters need to have depth. No real person has only one side. Characters might be one thing in one scene and something else in another. One-sided characters are not only no fun to write, but they are boring and not very realistic!

I put a lot of myself into various characters so perhaps my avoidance of certain traits and characteristics says something about who I am…or who I’m not! Either way, I enjoyed the characters in “Wrong Place, Right Time.” I feel like once I have the characters formed, they tell me what their story is and how to write it!

And here's another interview question from a participating blog:

This is a great clean romance novel! Do you think clean romance novels tend to struggle against the highly saturated erotic market? Or do you think clean romance is becoming more popular?

I think that clean romance novels are a genre all on their own. People who read and enjoy westerns may not pay any attention at all to thrillers and vice versa. Those who enjoy erotica stories may not want anything to do with clean romance novels. However, that does not mean there isn’t a market for them. I don’t think it is a struggle because they are two completely different type of book. They have their own niche audience and their own section of readers. Of course, there are readers who overlap and read a little of everything, but clean romance has it’s spot in many hearts and it is right where it belongs.

I write clean romance for a number of reasons. I enjoy writing things that I wouldn’t be embarrassed for even my 5-year-old daughter to read. I write things on a more emotional level than a physical level. And I write things about a couple that other people can participate in through the reading process. When it comes to the physical aspects, I feel that is between the couple and only the couple, even if they are fictional! No one else needs to see/read that part of their relationship.

As a reader myself, I appreciate a good, clean romance. I enjoy seeing how different authors bring the emotion into the story and how they mount tension with simple aspects. It is an art form and I think clean romance will gain more and more readers over the years.

I appreciate your support for “Wrong Place, Right Time.” I hope it makes you sigh, smile, giggle a little, and walk away with a light heart.

And here's another interview question from a participating blog...

Your novel involves the concept of putting money above other aspects of life. Talk us through this concept and how its involved in your novel.

Money is a huge deal in this world, is it not? Sadly, it seems as if people are driven by money on a daily basis. They have it…they want to spend it…they hoard it…they don’t have it…they need it. It causes constant problems! In “Wrong Place, Right Time,” the main character, Kate Covington is in a huge amount of debt. She’s living paycheck to paycheck. And not because she went crazy shopping with her credit card either. Her debt is noble and justified. But it’s still debt and she desperately needs to clear her name. On the other end, we have Chad Leida who appears to be practically rolling in money, though he hasn’t done much to earn it himself. He wants to do what he wants to do and that’s that.

So though money is brought up and a very important aspect of this novella, it is also not at the highest level of importance. The characters realize their focus is off at times and make adjustments accordingly. In the end, it’s more about emotions, companionship, love, ambition and maybe even a little attitude.

I hope you enjoy all of the elements of “Wrong Place, Right Time” and how they come together. When you set your e-reader down after finishing this book, I hope there’s a smile on your face and laughter in your heart.

And now here's an interview question I answered for one of the blogs on the tour:

Have you ever found yourself in the wrong place at the right time?

I actually met my husband in a slightly “Wrong Place, Right Time” manner! I was in college and he was finished with his degree and in the working world. We lived in two different cities about an hour and a half apart. I lived off campus and one Friday night, I headed to the dorms to meet up with friends…or so I thought. When I arrived at my friend’s room, I discovered that absolutely everyone in my little group had a date that evening. The only person left behind was my friend’s roommate, who was also a friend, but he had a lot of homework to get done. Instead of forcing me to leave dejected and with no plans and no date, he let me come into his room and use his roommate’s computer while he did his homework.

I trolled some chat sites and ended up running across my husband. We emailed back and forth for a week or so before he handed his phone number over to me. I called him the next weekend and we talked for four hours. I was at my friend’s dorm room at the wrong time. No one was available to do anything with me as I expected. But it ended up being the right time because had I not been bored and mostly alone, I may never have met Sean!

It’s interesting how life works out that way sometimes. You make a mistake, but it turns out for the better. You’re late to work only to hear there was a large accident in the intersection you would have gone through. You get lost only to run into a long lost friend. Sometimes, these things happen coincidentally. Other times, it seems as if the wrong place shows up at just the right time!

In this novella, the main character, Kate, stops what she thinks is her male best friend’s wedding. She quickly realizes she has complete strangers standing at an altar before her. And though the bride runs away and she is left with a ruined potential marriage on her hands, being at the wrong place doesn’t mean she wasn’t there at just the right time! I hope you enjoy the story. Even if you’ve never barged into a chapel and shouted “Stop the wedding!” I think you’ll be able to relate to Kate and her situation!

And the next time you end up in the wrong place, ask yourself if there’s a reason for it…are you there at the right time after all?

Everyone makes choices in life. Carina Porter may have made the wrong one.
After graduating college, she sits beneath her complimentary blanket in first class dreaming of grand adventures when she lands in Italy. Carina always put others first, but now, she’s resolved to indulge in an extraordinary vacation alone in Tuscany. Finally free from the demands of school and family, she's determined to break away from her sensible nature and take risks. When a handsome man sits beside her on the plane, those daydreams vanish.
Stefan Savano is dashing and handsome. As he shares tales of his family and vineyard, Carina is swept away by his charm. After a brief courtship, Carina falls hard, but events come to light that make her question whether Stefan is as kind-hearted as he appears to be.
Things aren’t as they seem at Savano vineyard. Carina seeks answers, but it seems everyone is keeping a secret. When Stefan’s nephew, Enzo, pays a visit to the estate she’s drawn to his kind and free-spirited nature, and they form a friendship. Stefan becomes preoccupied with work, and when Enzo’s stay ends, Carina finds herself feeling isolated. It is then that illness and responsibilities require Stefan and Carina to return to his small vineyard in quaint Ravine Creek, New York.
There, Carina meets Stefan’s entire family and the time she spends with Enzo becomes more frequent. She tries to deny her traitorous feelings for him, but their attraction grows each day.
When Carina experiences a tragedy, she learns what true love means and must choose between an unhappy existence and a life of passion.
