1. This is your debut novel! Congratulations! When did it all start?

Oh, years and years ago!  Really! But I actually finished it about six years ago. Then I discovered American Christian Fiction Writers where I learned a ton as to what makes a better novel. Now, after several edits, it’s finally coming out.

2.  Do you always write in the Historical genre?

No. I always write from a Christian perspective, but I also write contemporary. I have my second one coming out on Oct. 9th, and it’s a contemporary Christian romance. It’s entitled, Reviving Jules.

3. People are always interested in how the idea of the book began. What started the whole premise of Year of Jubilee?

I remember wondering how a young girl would get along in the old days without family support to help her. It would be such a lonely existence just trying to care for yourself and provide the necessities.  And since I’m a romantic at heart, it went from there to delivering her from the meager life through God’s plan, in the form of a handsome stranger, of course!

4.  What’s the main message of your book?

Hope. I want people to read the book, be carried away by its realism and understand that with God, there is hope in every situation. God can take any problem or a plethora of problems and flip it over so fast, you freeze in awe. He is that amazing.

I also want to portray a Christian-based passion in a wedded couple’s lives. Many people think Christians lead boring “Leave-it-to-Beaver,” kind of lives without real challenges or deep-set feelings, and that’s just not true.

5.  So what’s next? Historical or Contemporary?

LOL. Maybe suspense? I’m actually working on all three!!! So we’ll see what comes up next! Just like the theme in my books, I can’t wait to see what God’s has planned for me next!

Peggy Trotter has been writing something for over 30 years. The empty-nest syndrome set her to groping for a new direction, and wow, did God answer! Year of Jubilee, a Christian Historical Romance set in southern Indiana, debuted on April 10th  of 2015 through Prism Book Group. A second, a Contemporary Romance entitled, Reviving Jules, will follow on Oct. 9th,  2015 as well. She loves to reveal God’s miracles through the world’s underdogs and mix in a little love and happy endings. And a dash of heat!

She finaled in the Indiana Golden Opportunity Contest in 2013 in the inspirational Category, and is a 2014 ACFW Genesis Finalist in the Novella Category. Seldom does she stand still, but when she does, it’s to praise her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Creator of all gifts and Bestower of all blessings!
