This is a great clean romance novel! Do you think clean romance novels tend to struggle against the highly saturated erotic market? Or do you think clean romance is becoming more popular?
I think that clean romance novels are a genre all on their own. People who read and enjoy westerns may not pay any attention at all to thrillers and vice versa. Those who enjoy erotica stories may not want anything to do with clean romance novels. However, that does not mean there isn’t a market for them. I don’t think it is a struggle because they are two completely different type of book. They have their own niche audience and their own section of readers. Of course, there are readers who overlap and read a little of everything, but clean romance has it’s spot in many hearts and it is right where it belongs.
I write clean romance for a number of reasons. I enjoy writing things that I wouldn’t be embarrassed for even my 5-year-old daughter to read. I write things on a more emotional level than a physical level. And I write things about a couple that other people can participate in through the reading process. When it comes to the physical aspects, I feel that is between the couple and only the couple, even if they are fictional! No one else needs to see/read that part of their relationship.
As a reader myself, I appreciate a good, clean romance. I enjoy seeing how different authors bring the emotion into the story and how they mount tension with simple aspects. It is an art form and I think clean romance will gain more and more readers over the years.
I appreciate your support for “Wrong Place, Right Time.” I hope it makes you sigh, smile, giggle a little, and walk away with a light heart.
