Summary:

He appears the beast, But she sees His heart...

Architect Aimee Hart, determined to locate her father, infiltrates Miles Stratton’s engineering firm as a secretary. Her presence wrenches the shaggy, wounded man from his penthouse, and the quest begins.

Betrayed by his best friend, Miles would rather hide than help, especially from the man's daughter. But something's not right. Someone’s trying to destroy Stratton Industrial. A decorated war veteran, he's defended his own before and the Beast of Stratton can do it again.

Even with the enemy at his side.

Author Interview: Renee Blare

Where do you get your ideas?

This is a tough one, believe it or not. LOL Why? Because most of my ideas come to me in my dreams. That sounds VERY hokey, doesn't it? But it's true. I pray each night before I go to bed for the Lord to lead me in the direction He wants me to go (not just in my stories, either). It's amazing what He shows me during the night. I have to write it down! During Beast of Stratton, I was scribbling all kinds of things. LOL He's an amazing God.

If you didn't write, what would your dream job be?

My husband and I have always wanted to own and operate a retreat. I want it to be a place where writers can get away from the world...everything. To connect with the Lord and let Him direct them in their work. James wants to raise pheasants and have a slice of heaven on earth...where he can share a little bit of God's country with the world.

Do you have any other books? What are they about?

My second book's coming out in July by Prism Book Group. It's called To Soar on Eagle's Wings. It the first book in the Snowy Range Chronicles. Here's a little bit about it: Spring’s in the air. While the sun shines in Timber Springs, snow falls on the Snowy Range, and trouble’s brewing in the meadows. The area’s new game warden, Steve Mitchell finds a moose mired in a bog and launches his first wildlife investigation of the season. Then the trouble follows him…straight to town.

Rachel Fitzgerald’s on Spring Break. Or at least she’s trying. Between paperwork, harassing phone calls, and her family, she may as well have stayed in her classroom. So much for relaxation. A ‘chance’ meeting with her brother’s old roommate offers her weary soul a shred of hope, but she discovers love, like life, isn’t easy.

He talks with the wisdom of the Lord but rejects the future. She wants to soar with the eagles but walks alone. And trusting God proves to be more of a challenge than ever before…

I'm working on a book I'm calling Racing Hearts. It's a novella also for Prism Book Group. I'm not sure when it's supposed to be out but I'll let you know!

What's next for you in writing?

The second book in the Snowy Range Chronicles is complete but not quite ready. It's called Through the Raging Waters. I need to do a bit of editing before anyone can get a glimpse of that one. When that's done, I'll shoot it off and start work on the third...Awaken the Embers. I need to do a little bit of research before I can start writing on Embers though. I'm pretty excited about that!

Any writing goals you have yet to obtain?

I have a ton of goals! Do you have enough room? I still haven't made it to a writer's conference yet. I've almost made it to a couple, but surgeries and my move back to Wyoming nixed both of them. I'd love to meet my crit partners. Is that writing goal? I've talked to one on the phone...as well as my editor. I'm determined to figure out the easiest way to write a book. Is that even possible? LOL Right now, I'm a combination pantser and plotter. I've tried it both ways and tossed them both out the window. Who knows, maybe I'm just doomed to be a crazy writer. Oh, well, I'm determined to learn more as I go no matter what.

What do you hope readers get out of Beast of Stratton?

To never give up no matter what you may face and you're never alone. God's with you even when you can't hear Him or don't want to. His love and strength can overcome anything.
